Wow, well it’s finally here. Boston’s had one for years and what!?!! NYC lagging behind!?! Oh hell no!
Someone saw the injustice, how ludicrous it is that New York City doesn’t have their very own Vegetarian Food Festival and decided to take matters into her own hands.
I’m talking about Sarah Gross, founder of the charitable vegan chocolate company Rescue Chocolate. Sarah teamed up with Nira Paliwoda, fellow foodie and event planner, to rectify the situation, creating the premiere NYC Vegetarian Food Festival.
There’s so much going to be happening at this one day event so mark your calendars, Sunday April 3rd from 10am-6pm at The Altman Building, 135 West 18th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues.
It’s not just for vegans or vegetarians for sure. Everyone is welcome and as my non-vegan friends tell me all the time, “vegan food is not just for vegans anymore.” There will be tables of food from local restaurants and food product companies with samples.
In addition to all the great eats and treats, there’s going to be entertainment, cooking demos, speakers, renowned chefs doing food demos, belly dancing, kid friendly activities and more.
