Vegans and omnivores, can’t we all just get along?
My friend Wade has a website, the UltimateFoodie.com. As the ultimate omnivore he’ll eat just about anything (think Anthony Bordain). As such, he wanted to put vegan cuisine to the test. He said, “I want to be blown away. I don’t want to miss the meat.” I said, GAME ON! Let’s do this. The ultimate Vegan Smackdown. Vegan vs. Omni, winner take all.

Since the idea is to experience vegan cuisine at it’s finest, I took them to one of the best vegan restaurants in NYC, Candle 79. The meat eaters in this experiment were Wade Tonkin, the ultimate foodie and podcast king, Daniel Clark of QAQN.com.
Although mixed reviews on some dishes, overall they were pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the meal. Check out all the commentary in these videos.

It was a great evening; the food and the company were both great. Like I said later though, it’s one thing to have a single vegan meal – that’s easy. It’s making *every* meal a vegan meal that we omnis draw the line at. But all in all, it was quite good.

Unpaarellled accuracy, unequivocal clarity, and undeniable importance!
My omnivore husband requests visits to Candle 79. Excellent choice for the challenge!
That’s awesome. Omnivores love vegan food and Candle 79, clearly! If it was everywhere it’d be easy for people to choose vegan more often.
I loved watching this… Good job Sharon for taking them and good job Dan and Wade for going and having an open mind.
